James DeCoste competed for Rhode Island’s legendary Central Falls Weightlifting Club in the 1960s/‘70s, moving more into coaching as the latter decade rolled into the 1980s. In 1974 he won Junior National Championships, would ultimately compete three times in Senior Nationals. At various times he would hold teenage and open New England Records in 67.5, 75 and 82.5 Kilos Bodyweight Classes. [More specific information not available to me at this time. –Editor]
